Whether you're looking for a walk in the woods, a drive in beautiful surroundings or a swim at the beach, you can do it all in Bogense. Although modest in size, Bogense offers a variety of shops, restaurants and supermarkets, making it the perfect place for nature lovers and city dwellers alike.
Close to the harbor and the beach
First Camp Bogense City is just a five-minute walk from the beach. The beach lagoon with its wide sandy beach and varying water depths is an ideal place for both playing and swimming. At the bottom of the lagoon, the water is shallow and behind a series of large rocks, it gets slightly deeper.
Here you can spend hours of fun in the water, especially when the weather calls for a dip. There's also a convenient kiosk and restrooms nearby. The beach is newly built with 40,000 m³ of fine sand and is only 490 meters from the campsite reception.
City break in Bogense
Bogense has a history as a market town spanning more than 700 years and is the smallest of its kind on Funen. The town's location in the northwest corner of Funen, by the water, isolated it enough to avoid the rapid industrialization that characterized many other areas of the country. As a result, Borgen's old town is a living museum with well-preserved market town environments that you'll quickly discover as you explore the city.
Here you'll find idyllic old houses, merchant's houses and historical icons such as the square and the old cluster houses. The old harbor adds to the town's charm. Bogense still has a lively commercial life with traditional market trade and the largest marina on Funen. The distance from the reception to the town center is only 750 meters, and the nearest supermarket is just 350 meters away.
Paradise for anglers
North Funen is an angler's paradise with a long coastline stretching from Skåstrup in the west to Enebærodde in the east. Here you'll find some of the best fishing spots in the country. Angling is possible almost everywhere, but the best places are areas with a suitable water depth. Æbelø north of Bogense is a unique destination for angling with a unique nature.
Here you have the chance to catch big trout all year round. At Flyvesandet, next to Storskoven, there are good opportunities for sea trout fishing. At Enebærodde, where the coastline drops steeply (20 m) at the mouth of Odense Fjord into the Kattegat, there are also opportunities for cod fishing. If you want to try your luck in Put & Take lakes, one of Funen's most popular fishing lakes is nearby, Børge's Put and Take.
